Spring Fling

We were planning to paddle from Yates to Van Dyke/Heritage today but due to a snafu on the put in we launched from Ryan.  The river was running about average for this time of the year, around 1.8 feet.  Took out at the walking bridge in River Bends park, there is a portage just before the bridge and the bank is muddy!  After that stretch, took a ride up around the Paint Creek for some recon.

The rapid behind Rochester Mills was looking nice for surfing.  The rapid down by the 2nd Street bridge looked a little low.

Here are some pictures from today's adventure.
